The future of the theatre
The beginning of the theatre started at the Greek period. The plays were
destined to the public in general, the thematic was religious with the finality
of showing to all the people the life of the divinities and how they had to
life and brave to the problems; so all the people had to know it. The plays
were represented with the presence of a statue of “Dionisio” situated in the
middle of the scenery, Dionisio was the divinity of the theatre; other characteristic
is that at the beginning there were only one actor that had to represent all of
the characters of the play, but with the pass of the time they introduce more
actors so the plays change also their format and introduce more characters.(1)
With the pass of the years the theatre were addressed to different
people and with different thematic. The politics were the main thematic for
many years. Was the way that the politicians express their ideals and
electioneered of his party.
More actually is the finality of entertainment, with this finality the
public varies more. If the public are children, adults, teens…
So now the people who go to the theatre want to spend a good time; there
are plays to all kind of people, plays about sports, politics, music, fantasy,
quotidian life…
But the future of the theatre not only depends of the thematic, also
with the public and with the actors. If there are not people capable to
represent or to product and financial the plays the public can not choose a
play to see, but also if the people loose the tradition of going to the theatre
and prefer go to the cinema or to see a football match, the theatre will
disappears.
Although I think that this will not happen because actually there are
implication with this. The schools make activities as go some times a year to
the theatre or to do some representations with the children, so the children
since they are little the know what is the theatre. Also with the “Drama
schools” that form new actors, as children of five years, people who want to
spend their free time doing some activities, or also to people who want to
dedicated to this and want to had a future in the theatre.(2)
