CONCLUSION

After analysing some aspects of the text Damascene: a tale for computer and compasses, I have come to the conclusion that this story is a mixture of fantasy and thriller. Mystery makes the story more interesting and grab the reader’s attention and I think this is achieved in my case.

In reference to the end, I think it’s not clear what is the end exactly because the author leaves many questions without an answer. For example, what is about John the Damascene or Attilia’s father. The author leaves the possible end to the reader’s imagination. So, the story presents an “open end”.

In conclusion, I think that working on a hypertext has been a new experience for me and I’ve realised that exists other forms of reading a text. In my opinion, this way of reading can make the reading more entertaining and interesting. For me it would be a good idea to promote this type of text to the children because this way would encourage them to start reading a text.
