Abstract of the research in not more than 100 to max. 150 words:

 In this work we are going to speak about a Jane Austen´s novel: NORTHANGER ABBEY(1798), published in 1818.

 Firstly, we´ll mention the author´s life. She started to write very soon and a lot of places were significant for her life. The Austen´s style was difficult to define, because she was an author who didn´t belong to any age really, she was more classic than a person of her time. However, NORTHANGER ABBEY is an 18 th century´s novel.

 Secondly, Jane Austen was influenced by authors as Defoe, G. Eliot and Burney. She had got a good review. Her plays were well received by the audience, and she was admired by Walter Scott.

 Finallly, we´ll expound a bibliography with the more important novels: Sense and Sensibility(1797-98); Persuasion(1818); Pride and Prejudice(1796-98, published in 1813), the more popular; Emma(1815) and some minor writings. They all based in her experience and her good sense. Her characters belong to the gentry, who live in Bath(England), a very important place for the author.
