1)An Introduction:What is Modernism?

Modernism is a way of thinking that addresses the question of how to live acceptably in the modern world's tempest of adversity.
Part lifestyle philosophy, part political stance, and part fashion statement, Modernism provides a format for those who wish to maintain individuality and enjoyment within the restrictive framework of contemporary "mainstream" life.
The modernist adapts to the conditions of his environment. Pragmatism and style are sought in all things. Thus, urban life demands compact, efficient transportation and proper dress.
Politically, modernism supports social progress and the advancement of the working class. While few mods would be happy under communism, they are vehemently anti-Fascist. In fact, "Fascist!" is the most scathing epithet in the modern repertiore (besides "Square!").
