"In the last two years, she's led the team to a Sweet Sixteen and an Elite Eight. The papers call her "Charmin" or "The Charm".

She's a pretty girl who plays in a basketball team. She's good at this sport, that's why people call her " Charmin", because she's charming in both aspects: talking about basketball and physically. In general, people admires her, and the professor Blat seems to be attracted by her beauty.

"In the classroom... I'm like an alien. Creature from another planet."

She loves playing basketball , so she can't stop thinking about the game as it is said in the text. However, she has a good marks in everything, so she is a great student who has never involved in any problem. In this hypertext, his character appears, she can't stand her teacher Blat looking at her chest, and think a lot of injuries linked with sports against him like in this part : "If his head were a baseball, it've been one wicked line drive".

"And I swear I didn't ever realize I picked up the book. It was like a head fake or something, you just do it, you're not thinking..."

Then, she hits the teacher with a weighed volume of  Shakespeare which turns the man unconscious even she doesn't realize, because it was like a reflex.

Professor Blat

"He's a tall man, six foot plus, bulky and out of shape. His thinning hair has the shoe polish black color of bad dye..."

Physically, he's like an old and fatty man who lives moderately well, he is married and her wife can't explain herself how the situation has occured, since she says to the reporters his husband "is the nicest guy in the world."

"She must have known right then how stunned I was by her very presence."

When he first look at her he was shocked by her beauty, so when she comes near him , he can't speak normally. He thinks she must realize of his shyness, but actually she thinks he's an idiot or has a mental problem.

Dean Bryant: she is the charging person of the university, she's a mature person who don't care about the accident, I think she wants the accident to be forgotten as fast as possible.

"Dean Bryant, a woman in her early sixties, stares out her office window. "

Chip Michalek: he's Cleary's coach, who doesn't want that the university expel her as a conflictive student, since she's his best player and without her the team would be lost.

"He keeps saying, this is a good kid. She's never been in trouble before."

President Dungey and the Provost are the investigation's members in that problem and they ask a lot of questions to Charmaine about what actually happened.

Valerie and Justine are Charmaine's partners that don't really know what happened but they extend their personal rumour and can't stop talking about Charmaine and Blat.
