POWAZEK WORKS.
This story is inside the section drugs (love). It shows us a peculiar structure. It is formed by ten chapters written by ten different writers telling us what are the things they do for love. Only one of this chapters is written by Derek Powazek. The sentence that is more important in this work is that: IT'S NOT US THAT CHOOSE WHO WE LOVE, IT'S LOVE THAT CHOOSES US.
Firstly, when you see the first web page, we can see a picture that represents what the story is telling us. Then, there are a briefly but clearly summarize about what the work is about. In the same web page, we can see as an index which are links that directionate us an story about this writer do for love. It's interesting and funny because each story tells different cases about what people do for love. These stories are different but have in common that all of them are real stories, fiction is not in it. Why is it funny? I think that all are different and all tells us real stories and while you are reading it you are thinking what do you do for love or what did you do for love.
As in all of the stories you can tell what you do for love, you can explain your experiences and it is really funny and enjoyable. None of the stories are boring because they are real, they show us the reality and nothing is fiction.
It is not only love between
a couple, it is love for animals (dogs), friends, family and the couple
wife-husband too. I think that this not only tells us the typical things
done for love between a couple (wife-husband or girlfriend-boyfriend) it
explains love from many different situations: there are not simply love
between a couple; love is everywhere.

This work is in the group of work. In this story, Derek tells us his own experience in a job as an Assistant Production Editor in Hotwired office in San Francisco. The picture which introduces this explanation is from Derek's story. The structure of this story is: in the principal web page we can find a unique sentence (link) that introduces a whole story. When you press this link it goes to a picture (the up picture) and we can see up a sentence and down another sentence that tells his own experience working in this office. As you can see it is an officce full of computers, it shows us that Derek is always inside the wold of informatics. Here, he introduces people who are working here. When Drek has introduced a brief summarize of his story he shows us people in the same office and we can see pictures of his partners, characteristics...
He tells us his way of working, his projects inside his works, what he is doing, and all full of links where we can find more information about his partners for example.
The title of this work is very representative because it represent what he feels working in this officce. It very interesting the way Derek explain his experience, Derek presents us his partners who are more important for him.

We can see a big picture of a burning man similar to this picture. The structure is similar with all his stories, it has links to show you the rerst of the story. But WHAT IS THE BURNING MAN? The Burning Man is an event: people make the journey to Blac Rock Desert for one week to be part of an experimental community to express themselves. the result of this experiment is Black Rock City, home to the Burning Man event.
The founders of this events are Larry Harvey and Jerry James and it started burning a wooden man in San Francisco Beach in the summer of 1986.
People are not observers, only participants. There are no rules about behaviour (saving health and partners) or how people express their opinions. Art is an important part in this event. in this event people can draw, write and answer and they can answer three basic questions: why are you here?, what have you done? and how does it feels?
The main topic of this
work is the lack of freedom inside the civilization.

This story is in the group criminal (stories about times that test your face). The structure of this story is similar to the other stories I analised. Firstly, we can find a picture about San Francisco which is a very important city for Derek because there are many of his stories based in San Francisco or placed here. A clear example is the The Book of the Burning Man where is placed the event.
The soty is diveded in paragraphs to facilitate the lecturer because it forms a column. Between these paragraphs there are a picture which is a link that directionate us to the next paragraphs where you can find inside of them a sentence which summarize the next paragraphs. As the other stories we have a short story that tells us the way of living of the protagonist in San Francisco.
When you read this story,
Derek does the differenciation between black people and white people: there
black buildings (for black people) and there are white buildings (for
white people). He does not discriminate people but this is the reality in
the way of living in San Francisco. The fact that this story is in the group
criminal is very truly because he inside the text we can see in many time
the same sentence: Watch your back or Take care. In appearance
he shows San francisco or its streets like a dangerous place where the
violence is in the first place. But Derek tells a situation that can be
dangerous but really it is not true. I think he tries to demonstrate telling
this situation that it is not really true. I can't do anything else about
the story because it is very short and the structure is similar to the other
stories Derek shows us in his web page. And once again we ca find at the
end of the story a link where the readers can tell their personal opinions
or their personal experiences living in San Francisco or somewhere else.

As a personal opinion
or a conclusion I can say that Derek stories are very rel and fiction has
not place in his stories. I have enjoyed doing this analysis about this
author because I can express my own experiences (if I want) and read other
experiences to different people in the world.
