SPACE

As I said before, this hypertext is divided in 3 parts, so I am going to analyse the space of each part.

Ø      Part One

The first space of this part is the interior of a café, where he starts writing his thoughts while having a coffee.

The second space is the exterior of the café, but here he is not in the street, he continues inside the café, but what happens is that the café is viewed from outside, like with a camera. Then we can see “The Chief” again inside the café.

The next space in this part is the Dimly Street in his way home, and then the front yard, when he arrives home and he is hesitant about enter or not. The last space that appears in this part is his house, where he founds the mechanic head identical to him.

Ø      Part Two

The second part of the story is located most of the time in a back room where is “The Secret Chief” with a computer and the mechanic head, and you can see the street through the window of the room.

Another space that appears in the story is a beautiful landscape, or “idyllic field” as it is named in the story,  full of flowers (“the camera” follows a flower) and illuminated by the sun. This moment of the story reflects the trauma of birth since he would have not wanted to be born.

After this flashback to that idyllic place, the story returns inside the back room, and there is an alternation of 2 places that are interconnected by the screen that “The Secret Chief” is always watching and that most of the time there are tracking lines in it: one is where “The Chief” is controlling everything and the other is where “The Second Chief” is.

At the end of these part, we can see the basement stairs that lead to the street, and once there we can see a place in the street where there are some railings. The last space is again the interior of the back room, when Patch and Shades enter and find “The Secret Chief’s” things.

Ø      Part Three

This part starts in a motel where Patch and Shades are counting the dead doubles. Then it appears the house of “The Chief” and then a restaurant. The next space will be the garage where “TheChief” goes and then the office where he finds Jack dead. Then he goes to an apartment where Shades kills another Patch’s double.

At the end the story is located in a studio and then the motel of the beginning of the story, where “The Chief” will kill yourself and the story will end.
