KICKOFF THE BLABBERMOUTH
He did not see it come
Footballer Robert Sestrand (RC Lens) hit in face by supernatural shot
The first half of the game between RC Lens and Paris SG
was coming to its end. The referee had blown for a free kick after a foul
committed by Robert Sestrand (RC Lens). The wall to hinder the shot on goal was
prepared, all players protecting their guts and faces with their hands -all but
one. Robert Sestrand tried his luck so much that, not so unexpectedly, he found
his left eye, left cheek, nose, mouth, chin and upper neck hit by a tremendous,
powerful shot that even made the ball burst with a shuddering sound.
After that, our unlucky player fell to the pitch, needing help from the squad's doctor to regain consciousness, and later being accompanied by the stretcher-bearers to the changing room so that he could get over such a brutal blow. Nevertheless, Sestrand could not continue playing and had to be substituted at the beginning of the second half. The image on the left -perfectly taken in the precise moment of the impact- is illuminating enough.

Breath-breaking accident
Andrew Georgeson has a spectacular crash during Super Bikes contest
'I saw my life running past my eyes', Georgeson said after the contest. That he could have died, or at least broken even the tiniest bone in his body, no-one can deny. But, amazingly, since none of this did happen, we can consider it a miracle.
During the Super Bikes Contest at Nurbürgring, Germany, when his motorbike slided, and then was lifted up into the air smashed to pieces, he probably did not think of anything, not even of surviving. And, what's more, if the bike's front wheel had approached his head a little more than a couple of inches, we would now be talking of a much more tragic denouement for this piece of news. Fortunately, as only a minor wound in his left foot has to be noticed, thank God this time we're just dealing with a breath-breaking accident.
