WHATCHA THINK?                                                                                                                    THE BLABBERMOUTH

Let's see how different answers and responses to the same question can give us information about

different kinds of people.

Interviewer : What do you think about drugs? Do you take any? Should they be legalised?

Man 1: Of course I don't take any drugs! We all know that drugs are really harmful, and all policies should concentrate on their banning

and a strong persecution over dealers and drug addicts.

Teenager 1: Well, I used to smoke crap some time ago, but now I don't. Nowadays they're really common in society, and many people

-not only drug addicts- take them as a way of escaping from reality. And many other people take them just for fun. I think they shouldn't

be legalised because many people would become drug addicts in short.

Woman 1: Drugs? Oh no, never! People who take them are crazy! And many have lost their health, their families, their jobs and all

that because of addiction. Legalisation? Absolutely not.

Man 2: Yeah, I usually smoke weed, but I got great control over myself, I'm not a pothead! I just take it to relax after a hard day.

They should be legalised because that would not imply an increase of consumers, but a better control over their quality, and all

the hidden mafias would disappear.

Teenager 2: Do I look like a junkie? All junkies are scum, and dealers should spend the rest of their fucking lives in jail!

Woman 2: No, I don't take any drugs. But I wouldn't mind their legalisation, since people who take them will take them even if they're

legal or not. Let's look at Holland, it's a modern country and the taking of soft drugs is tolerated. And people there do not

scandalise, it's seen as something realistic that has to be controlled, regulated and normativised, like any other business.

Man 3: First of all, we should differenciate between soft and hard drugs. Soft drugs like hash or marihuana are similar in some way

to tobacco and alcohol, and why say yes to tobacco and alcohol and no to weed, for example? It's just a natural plant! We should

tolerate all of them or none, but not yes to ones and no to others. Regarding hard drugs like cocaine, heroine or pills, I'm completely

against their taking and their legalisation. That crap is all synthetic and chemical and is pure poison.

Teenager 3: My life is mine, and I can do with it whatever I want. If I don't disturb the others' lives, why should I be bugged

for smoking a couple of joints? Laws rule from my skin outwards, from my skin inwards I am the only ruler.

Woman 3: I don't know. Everyone is free to do what they want. If someone takes drugs, that's their problem. I really don't care.

What's more, legalisation would not change anything, I think it's all a matter of money, not of morality.

Man 4: Most politicians take drugs, and why shouldn't I? They're all a bunch of hypocrites, they could finish with drugs if they

really wanted to, but they're not into it. And when the police finds a good amount of drugs, why don't they show how it's burnt or

destroyed? That's because they keep it to sell it again to the mafias.

Teenager 4: No, I've never taken any drugs. I prefer to drink alcohol to get high, it's cheaper, healthier and legal. People who take

drugs aren't conscious that they're killing themselves without any need, just for the sake of it. And you can get a good fine or even go to

prison if you're caught taking or dealing with drugs, is it necessary to run the risk? I don't think so. Legalise them? I don't agree with it,

but I wouldn't care if it were so.

Woman 4: All depends on what is considered as drugs. Tobacco, alcohol, pollution or spending all your money playing slot machines

can be drugs. All that stuff kills your body or your mind, therefore, all that stuff are drugs. And all that makes your

individual life or society worse and decadent should be eliminated. It's pure logic. It's like fastening your seatbelt and drive your car

at high speed after drinking litres of whisky. Has it sense?

Taking into account the previous answers, we'll briefly try and sketch their beliefs,

knowing that this is just a general approximation that does not define their personality.
