Conclusion
As
many of my classmates, I had never dealt with a hypertext before and, although,
as every new thing, this kind of text seems complicated at the beginning then when
you realize how it functions you start to enjoy it. Hypertext of course has its
disadvantages, it can be tiring reading on a screen, you cannot take your
hypertext to everywhere you go and obviously you cannot touch a text that
doesn’t exist physically, but I think that the freedom of reading which
hypertext offers and its dynamism are great qualities that allow it to adapt to
each reader giving us the chance of making decisions that affect to the
narrative, the opportunity of creating our own novel and of reading many
stories from one single hypertext.
At
“24 hours with someone you know…” I was surprised by the use of the second
person at the narration as the way to convert the reader into the lead role of
the action and by the great amount of links taking me to other parts of the
story that provide distinct information.
While making the study of this text I found some troubles, the main of
which was that I didn’t know how to focus the analysis of the internal spaces
of the text, finally I decided to divide the spaces that appear at the fiction
in open and closed, describe them like I found them at it, explaining how I
arrived to them and linking them to the original text. Then I analyzed the places that were out of
the path that I followed. I think this is the best way of doing it because
being inside the context of the story, the descriptions are easier to
understand.
To
finish with this conclusion, I would like to say that although I was reluctant
to read hypertext due to the fact that reading on a screen is not the best way
to keep a healthy sight, but now, I can appreciate the values of this new way
of narrative and I think that it's worth to be studied in order to improve its
several properties.
