Plot:
In this play is developed a double
plot. At first place, appear two critics of theatre, Moon and Birdboot. At
second place, this men begins to form part of the play which they are watching.
Moon, is now the inspector Hound, and Birdboot is now Simon. In the play,
police are investigating the murder of the Cinthya husband. But at the end we
realize that her husband is not died. Magnus, the brother-in-law of Cinthya is
finally her disappeared husband.
At the end of the play Hound and Simon
died, but I’m not sure if Moon and Birdboot died too.
Space, time and other aspects:
The space of this play is a theatre in
which appears two arm-chairs in which the two characters are sitting. On stage
appears a phone continuously.
The time of the play is the present.
The language is colloquial and formal.
Tom Stoppard uses a language easy to understand.
I must to empathize the presence of
pauses.
Personal opinion:
I think that it is a strange play. In
my opinion it is an entertaining and interesting play, but I think that is a
little confused and it is difficult to understand.
Tom Stoppard uses the term of “Theatre
of the absurd” though the change of two persons that become in two fictional
characters.
Although I think that it is an odd
play, I recommended it reading.
