An approach to Tristram Shandy from a social point of view.  I will try to analyze the novel and the purpose it has related to the time when it was written.  Several aspects such as irony and satire will be mentioned in order to understand what the author wants to tell us.  It will also contain the meaning of this novel and the repercusion it produced at that time.
