The author I have chosen is Jane Austen because of her great importance in today’s English literature. I will analyse different points of her work ‘Pride and Prejudice’ , relating them with her other novels. The main points I will comment are the way in which this novel reflects the English society of her age, the reduced and peaceful world of the land-owner families. Moreover, it is important to talk about the independent personality of her characters. Finally, I will mention the humorous way in which Jane Austen creates comical portrayals of some of her characters.
