I will analyse all the points forming what we know about Feminist Criticism. The ‘new’ literary theory deals with the position occupied by women in today’s literature. Tradition has relegated everything related with woman to a secondary position , and what this theory aims is to set woman as a producer subject. It is stressed the opposition between male and female . The latter is occupying the place of the former. Finally, I will relate this whole theory to the work of an important writer, that is Virginia Woolf . I think she is a good exponent of female writers of this century.
