The purpose of this paper is to analyse the novel "Mrs Dalloway" from the author Virginia Woolf. From a textualist point of view I will try to show how is being described 1923-London's society.

Along the novel "Mrs. Dalloway" there are many references in which we can see the social and political situation that lived the society in 1923, the way of life, the thoughts and the feelings of its citizens. This novel not only shows people, but also the city of London.

Virginia Woolf talkes about London through the eyes of Mrs. Dalloway and other characters. This paper will try to show the reasons that make me think that the main character of this novel is London. And the reasons that I think Virginia Woolf had to call this novel "Mrs. Dalloway".
