Abstract : In this project I hope to give my
reader the biography of
the writer Arnold Bennett and some insight into the material written about him.
Despite not being an extremely famous novelist, his works are of important
interest to the student of English life and ordinary people in the first part
of the twentieth century.
According
to my research, there have not been many works written about
Arnold Bennett and consequently I have to limit my scope to the only essay that
I have been able to find about him, written by a very close fiend, Frank Swinnerton. One of the few translations of this
author which I have found is that of The
Old Wives Tale (1908) translated
as Cuento de Viejas by María
Cóndor Orduña in 2005.
Auto-evaluation: I think this project deserves a 6. It has been difficult
to research due to the lack of information and my unfamiliarity with Internet
and its hypertexts but I have dedicated time and effort to it and I have done
my best.
