y work will be focused on the hypertext fiction novel of
Michael Joyce , ‘Reach’, which I have chosen to
analyse
from
the section of Tools. He published this novel in spring, 2000. It is a work of
public use and completely free
of
charge, so anybody who wants to read it can find it in the following website:
http://www.uiowa.edu/~iareview/tirweb/hypermedia/michael_joyce/ReachTitle.html
.
In
the abstract there are all the aspects that I will prepare to the novel of ‘Reach’. First of all, I have decided
to do an
introduction
of this Second Paper
to make clear the steps of my work and to avoid any confusion. I have also
introduced the
meanings
of hypertext fiction
and Storyspace programme.
If
you click on the word ‘Reach’ you will find the section of my work
where I carry out a detailed analysis of Michael Joyce’s
novel.
Then you can discover the biography
(his life, his profession, etc.) of the author, which is short because there is
not
much
information about him. I have also put a list, if you are interested, with the
hypertext fictions and the published books of
Michael
Joyce, which is contained in the section of bibliography.
Afterwards
there is my opinion
upon the novel ‘Reach’, which are my
thoughts about it, if I like it or I do not like it and also
examples
and reasons for this. For more information about Michael Joyce I have found two
interviews about him
and his
work,
one conducted by Camille Renshaw and the other by Mary Cavill. Finally, I have
explained the difficulties I have had in
the
analysis of the novel ‘Reach’ and
the purposes that I have achieved in my work in the section of conclusion.
As
you have seen there are many links that help you to discover more easily my
work and more information about the author
Michael Joyce and about the hypertext
fiction novel ‘Reach’.
