Paul Kafka grew up in Bethesda, Maryland.
I have not found the date of his birth, but thanks to an article
published in The New York Times where is mentioned the age of the author, I suppose that
Kafka is 48 years old. So he was born, hypothetically, in 1960.
He graduated from Harvard College
in 1982 and seven years later, in 1993, he received a Ph.D. degree (Doctorate)
in English Literature from the University
of Denver. He wrote
several books such as Home Again
(1984), Love Enter (1993) and Dupont Circle (2002). Love Enter was
published by Houghton Mifflin and Kafka received Los Angeles
Times Book Prize for it.
Paul Kafka is a novelist
and a professional modern dancer. He had performed with companies in Paris (the
Josiane Rivoire Dance
Company), New York, Boston, Massachusetts
(Barbara-Jean Mulholland’s company) and so on.
His parents live in Bethesda. Her mother,
Marian S. Kafka is a neuroscience researcher retired who works as the chief of
the clinical research branch of one Mental Health Institute in Bethesda.
His father is a
psychoanalyst in Washington and a professor of psychiatry at the George
Washington University School of Medicine. Paul Kafka got married in 1997 to
Patricia Ann Gibbons, an internist in a hospital in Boston. She is also an instructor in medicine
at the Harvard Medical
School in Boston. She received her medical degree and
graduated from the University
of Colorado.
