Map

Below is a map of the hypertext's pages and paths. The orange lines represent paths that take the reader from a secondary page to a converging page from which the story can progress.

Clicking on any box will take you to the original page. If you hover over it a few seconds, it will show you how many words and lines that page contains. You can also zoom in to get a clearer view.

A map for the hypertext showing all pages should be shown here. If you can't see it, please e-mail me at guichupe@alumni.uv.es and report this error.

As we can see on the image above, the story is first split up on ENTRY, where we have two different paths to follow: we can go into the house and have BREAKFAST, which could be referred to as the main path to follow, as LEAVE is just a sort of bypass that ends up connecting with this path in HOUSE. The hypertext is full of these "bypasses".

Therefore, the reader will always land on these pages —whatever path they choose to follow:
BEGINNING, ENTRY, HOUSE, POLLY'S ROOM, HOUSE 2, PARTY 1, COUCH, DAWN

In HOUSE we see yet again one of these bypasses. We can go to POLLY'S ROOM, KATE'S ROOM or POOL, but the latter two will only delay your passing through POLLY'S ROOM. From here we go to HOUSE 2, and we have the option to go to PUB 2 or PARTY 1. And again, whatever option the reader chooses, they are going to end up in PARTY 1. In PARTY 1, a similar option is presented, but with NIGHCLUB or COCUH. Again, it does not matter whether you choose NIGHTCLUB or COUCH, as you are going to end up in COUCH.

Knowing this, we can skip these "bypasses" and get through the shortest path, which is is: BEGINNING > ENTRY > BREAKFAST > RALLY >HOUSE > POLLY'S ROOM > HOUSE 2 > PARTY 1 > COUCH > DAWN and consists of 9 pages.

You can also read a more detailed summary of the story: i.e. what happens in each page etc.
