Make me a Jewish Man has been my first experience with hypertext. Although I prefer to read a book rather than read something on the screen, I have to admit that hypertexts are very original, due to the fact that the author can create a very big space full of images, sounds, text... and it is able to be related with many other hypertexts. It is just a new and a different way to read.
In the case of Make me a Jewish Man, it has not been complicated or confused to read because of its linearity. It hasn’t got alternative options to be ended in one way or another or, to choose between two or three ways to follow a determined story. This hypertext is structured in a way in which we have to follow one order; it’s clear that we can read chapter three before chapter one, but it makes no sense if we have all the chapters ordered.
Sonya Rapoport, the author of the hypertext, writes interesting things. She writes about themes which are not common in literature, I mean, her writing is different because she compares ancient times, ancient cultures with nowadays sexuality.
To find information about Sonya Rapoport has not been a problem because of her fame in the field of painting and drawing, and most recently, in the multimedia space.
To conclude, I would say that I am glad by the fact that contact with Sonya Rapoport via e-mail has been possible. It has helped me so much to clarify some doubts and to better understand her hypertext.
