Note - The order in which the
'Chronicles' were published does not reflect the order in which C.S.Lewis
wrote them.
In what order should the seven 'Chronicles
of Narnia' be read?
There is no right or wrong answer to
this question. During 1957 a boy called Laurence wrote to C.S.Lewis asking
the exact same question. He thought the books should be read within the
following sequence:
-
The Magicians Nephew
-
The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
-
The Horse And His Boy
-
Prince Caspian: the return to Narnia
-
The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader
-
The Silver Chair
-
The Last Battle
His mother on the other hand thought
they should be read in publication order. C.S.Lewis replied:
"I think I agree with your order
for reading the books more than with your mother's..."
