Structure
“8 minutes” is
a fiction hypertext written in 1996 for Enterzone. It is structured in
a simple way and it is very easy to read. The author does not include
any photography in the hypertext and it has 14 pages with text where
each one has a different number of paragraphs. The decoration is really
naïve, only black letters on a violet bottom, and a white symbol
of infinite at the foot of each page. This symbol could be as well, a
number 8 just lying down. The time that a reader needs to read the
hypertext is exactly 8 minutes, as same as, the name of hypertext. The
page changes to another one automatically, until arrives to the last
one; the ending of hypertext. However, clicking the symbol of infinite
you can pass to the next page faster. Definitely, the author shows in
the hypertext many feminine features, doing probably, a hypertext
dedicated to women. Martha Conway includes similar features about the
structure in hers others hypertexts as; Dust, Everything after that or
Girl Birth Water Death. In all of them, we can found a simple structure
easy to read.
