Title of the paper : Poetry of the 19th and 20th centuries
Abstract : This webPage deals with the most famous poets of the 19th and 20th centuries. The aim of this course was to learn and enjoy the poetry of the Romanticism, the Victorian Age, the Pre-Raphaelites, World War I and the 20th century. There is also included a brief commentary (last paper) on a Literary Theory. In class we talked about a lot of poets but we had to analyse only some of them. In my case, I studied poets like W. Blake and J. Keats for the Romanticism, Elizabeth B. Browning for the Victorian Age, for the Pre-Raphaelites I analysed Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Wilfred Owen as a World War I poet, two Irish poets such as W. B. Yeats and Seamus Heaney and belonging to the Contemporary Poetry I worked on the couple Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. At last, my favourite Literary Theory is the Marxist one, so I wrote my paper on this topic. You can read my papers by clicking on this menu:
Auto-evaluation: Due to my interest in English Poetry, I have to admit that this subject was very interesting for me. I learnt a lot about the 20th century poetry which was unknown for me. Evaluating myself is quiet strange, but I think a B would OK because my progression is visible thoughout my papers. I want also to add that editing this webPage is the most difficult task for me according to this subject. I expect that this will be considered.
