Abstract: I am going to make an exhaustive analysis of the hypertext poem “The Portrait of the Artist” by Peter Howard (Nottingham, 1957) from the point of view of tools. The analysis will consist on how the poem works, that is, what the reader can see and do by reading the poem. In the introduction I will explain more exactly how I will do the analysis and also how the whole paper will be about. I think it will be interesting to add a list with links to websites related to Peter Howard and his work. In the conclusion I will make my own interpretation of the poem and I will express my point of view about Peter Howard and his work and also about hypertexts in general.

Auto-evaluation: I am not sure if I have understood properly Howard’s poem and work in general but I think the most important is the freedom of interpretation that each reader has when reads his poems. If I am right or not I cannot say it but personally I enjoy doing this paper and improving my website and I think that the result is quite good. I consider that I could deserve a 7.5.
