TIME

The story is settled in current days, the era of internet and telecommunication. It was published in 1999 inside newspoetry.
All stories seem to develop simultaneously in time, though this is not clearly stated. Their rhythm and evolution is similar: the writer explains their  social status and job, gives some details about their past and then tells us about a day of their lives. That changing point in everybody’s life, the day their living reaches the higher point. In the majority of stories this point is death. As this end approaches the rhythm speeds up. Then, the story is  solved  in less than a sentence. As in real life, death comes in surprise without having warned before, and this is the impression we have as readers. “There was an electrical fire and the house burned down and they were killed.” “ Ward Callahan Jr. chuckled and a savage raccoon leapt from a shelf of bowling trophies above his head and chewed his eyes out in a geyser of blood.” “By five PM he was dead from food poisoning.” This quotes from the text show up the imminence of death and the way Mr. Gillespie condenses time in order to get this effect.
