Space References
In this section I will show the
space references I have found in my analysed hypertext, Love Enter, chapter by chapter:
1) CALL
Here, there, in the hospital, in the
room, in the middle of the table, Tulane’s and
Stairwell, around, down, in front, a
hat store, Boutique Mademoiselle, under the table, there, on the landing, into
the apartment, on the sofa, under a tall candelabrum, in the living room, into
the kitchen, at a party, through the room, across the table, at Rue Berlioz, in
your bedroom, over the radiator, in the corner, back, into the balcony windows,
pillows, down the hall, on the dried-out herringbone floor.
Hospital Forcilles,
from her doorway, across the street, in the apartment, at Yale University, in
the United States, France, in Paris, on the door, at school, on Allen Street,
side by side, at her small table, into the desk, out the window, under the lens,
Europe, Israel, Egypt, Genoa, Lucerne, from the floor, in the Triangulum galaxy, on the left-hand page, on the right, in
their orbits, here and there, out in the hall, into the room, in a feather bed,
at Germaine’s table, in front of a tea cup, Saint Francis’ Hospital, in the
attic room, into the hallway, in the streets, from the fourth floor, down.
4) WINDOW GLASS
Into the curry pile, in the declined
empire chair, into the balcony window, along the ancient wall, there, at
Arlington High, New York, from the once regal chair, by the window, toward the
courtyard, in the glass, inside the apartment, from the sled, in his fourth
grade class, Manchuria, around, on earth, here, France, down, into the kitchen,
out, along the wall, downstairs, Versailles, Rue de Paradis,
below the waist, Yale, in Paris, in bars, to the city, at the library, at Beaubourg, on Rue Paul Bert, in Newton, in downtown
Poughkeepsie, Brentwood, Jersey City, Massachusetts, New England, on a wooden
boat, New Hampshire, in the chair, into the middle, on the door, at Les Puces, Belgium, Holland, behind Margot, in the middle of
all, out the door, down the stairwell, across the courtyard, through the gate,
in the shop, on Rue Duret, down the sidewalk, around
yourself, in front of Giorgio’s, across Avenue de Malakoff, through into
Berlioz, on the cobbles, side by side, under the linden tree.
5) GHOST MUSCLE
Through the narrow window, New
Orleans, on the baby’s head, in the corner, there, the floor, at the wrong
angle, in my palm, into a truck of a car, in front of the baby’ s other ear,
Charity Hospital, toward Judy’s bottom, out, back, on his feet.
