Analysis
of the SPACE
File
3: TERMINALS
This file is divided into 59 parts (the first one
called “scene” and each other called “term”). But in this file, I will not do the
analysis in an individual way because most of the actions take place at the
same place and there aren’t many spatial references to comment on.
The action takes places in the offices of a company
where Jenny works. These offices are in San
Francisco and Jenny talks about how they are and how workers are. In this
part of the hypertext she also has dreams and memories about Jeff and about
Uncle Roger.
There aren’t many spatial references,
but I have found some of them:
El Cerrito Plaza shopping centre: Jenny is doing a report about this shopping centre.
Lunch room:
She explains that there is a lunch room in the offices and how it is.
San Francisco:
Where these offices are.
There are also memories and
dreams. There are some spatial references related with her memories:
Woodside:
She remembers this place in one of her memories.
Boston: One of the
presents that Uncle Roger gives her is a trip ticket to there (My present from Uncle Roger was a round trip
ticket to Boston).
Jenny’s apartment: She
dreams that Jeff was in her apartment.
Airplane: Jenny
remembers when Uncle Roger and she were on the airplane going to San Francisco.
Airport: She remembers that her mother was waiting for
her at the airport.
