CONCLUSION
After
reading this hypertext we have come to these conclusions:
Although
my work has been based primarily on analyzing the hypertext The Monkeys
by Mike Benedetti, I have read other stories that he published inside Fairy
Tales as Melchior or Errands.
Reading them I realized that the stories of this author are based on social criticism,
particularly on social behavior, actions and reactions of the persons.
For
example, in The Monkeys, Benedetti seems that wants to criticize the violent
behavior of children through the character of William. A boy of just a year old
that speaks and acts like an adult person and also has a violent behavior is
not something common in a fairy tale. This calls the reader's attention and may
be a complain against the violence in society.
Also
the spaces in which occurs the story may be representations of poverty and
wealth and the injustices in the world. In my opinion his stories have much
symbolism.
It also has, to cite another example, the hypertext Melchior,
who is a criticism of the importance that many people gives to the physical
aspect and a story about vengeance.
If
we reflect on the reading and his interpretative contents I think that is a
hypertext directed more to an adult audience than a children audience, with a
sudden and unexpected end in which the characters do what they want and not
what they should.
In general, accustomed to reading short stories and books in printed format I
had enjoyed with hypertext and I thought is interesting to analyze a published
work in a different way.
It´s been a
very interesting experience and I learned a lot about hypertexts. This has been
the first time I have analise the idea of reading this kind of literature.
