FIRST PAPER
Student's name: SANDRA PEÑALVER VILLAFAINA
Title of the paper: Narrativa Inglesa I
Author or topic: GEORGE ORWELL
Abstract or summary of the research in not more than 100 to max.150 words:
Orwell, Eric Blair, called George. (Motihari, Indian
1903- London 1950)
I'm going to talk about this author, because I'm
very interested in his ideal: to make political writing into an art, since
his starting point is a feeling of partianship, a sense of injustice (Its
about what happens to ordinary people, when other people have power over
them). Orwell's prose style is a part of his personality.
The style is indeed the man. A style which, was the
direct result of his genuine search of freedom.
He believed that the great enemy of clear language
is insinceraty, so his basic qualities of straighforwardness and honesty,
remained in even the lesser and more hurried pieces, such as, Animal
Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Orwell was always interested in politics and he believed
in a socialism which should be built on the triple foundation of Liberty,
justice and common decency.
So he wrote an magnific allegory as Animal Farm to
show that the ideals of the original founders of the Revolution had been
betrayed and that the workers and peasants were being as cruelly treated
by the Communist Government as they had been by the Tsar.
