CHARACTERS

 

Lyssa Strutter: The owner, editor and publisher of Cutting Edges, a representative Portland’s magazine where she publishes her poems. She is divorced and has a daughter, Hannah, 18. She is idealist and even desires change the world.

Roxana: House cynic, graphic designer and  photographer in Cutting Edges. She has a daughter, Daphne, 16.

Daphne: Roxana’s teenager daughter

Deborah Dobell: a successful novelist, and a good friend of Lyssa.

Diana: Assistant editor at Lyssa’s magazine covers Portland music scene, and she is also a singer and a songwriter. She is dominating, with temperamental energy, and stubborn; she has short, henna red hair, tall; she lived with Steve after having finished her studies in Eugene, and now is going out with Geoff.

Adam Last: Professional student working on a Ph.D. in physics and not particularly fond of commitment, he is Lilith’s boyfriend.

Matt Mollit: a professional idealist as is humanly possible, but he has a male ego.

Harry: a band member.

Hannah: Lyssa’s daughter, 18, lives in Eugene with Kate, She is rebel and always discuss with her mother.

Kate: Hannah and Randy’s roommate, she does not approve Randy’s moral ideas

Marty: assistant editor, despairing parents, bushy moustache, a young version of Groucho Marx; he is divorced and has got two daughters.

Adrian: the Diana’s long-distance boy-friend, he lives in Seattle as a musician, he is a handsome local rock star.

Mercy: an assistant professor in a mediocre university, mediocre marriage with George, for the children’s sake is her favourite excuse. She needs a wife.

George: Mercy’s husband. He works as a vacuum cleaner repairman, and has a cynical superiority.

John: the band drummer, all-American face, truly handsome guy, with freckles on his nose and cheeks.

Samantha Lee: the band flute, a musician by hobby, journalist by profession, works in Portlandia’s TV.

Randy: Hannah and Kate’s roommate in Eugene, he is a good cook in the era of yuppiedom got a higher cultural level, has two girlfriends, Kate

Reilly: the band electric bass, not timid

Rick:  a lead acoustic guitar player

Myrine: works as a self-defence teacher, Matt’s friend.

Lilyth Lampito: a high school P.E. teacher who gives self-defence courses.

Geoff: Diana’s former boyfriend.

Robert: a band member

Guy: the band’s guitar player

Dick: the band’s drums player, his nickname is “the animal”.
