SPACE

The space in the hypertext 'Lies' changes a few times. In the beginning, we are presented with a dance floor. We are not sure where the dance floor is exactly but we know that there is little light, alcoholic drinks are served and that there is more than 2 people at the dance floor. By deduction, we can say that this dance floor belongs to either a bar/pub or a discoteque. The space then changes and is split in two. The point of view changes from the mans to the womans. We know that they are both separated from eachother and that it is impossible to communicate to eachother but no where in the hypertext does it tell us the space they are in.

At the end, the protagonist finds himself in an unfamiliar bed room and the hypertext ends. There is very few space. The fact that there is little space might contribute to the confusing atmosphere that the author has created. Lies and thuth are confusing as it is, and thus exposing little space makes it even more confusing for the reader because he/she has no idea where all these events are going on.
