LANGUAGE
The language of the
hypertext is very specific. In it prevails the future
form created with “will”. This fact can have a double function. As the
dictionary defines, time structures formed with will have a meaning of
certainty in a future action but also in some situations this word can have
connotations of hypothesis. So, very intelligently, the story proposes
different interpretations. It can narrate secure facts that will happen to a
married couple, series of possible facts or combine elements from the two
anterior.
In the hypertext is frequent
find polysemy in words like spice (Month
Two: Your Spice) where its meanings are all applicable. This vocabulary is
frequent, in addition, there are examples of words that are used in formal
(gear, Month
Seven: Your Vagina) and informal registers (zits, Month
One: Your Skin). However, there is a major number of words used in informal
situations to approximate the hypertext to the lector.
The story counts with a
specialized vocabulary related with the pregnancy. Additionally, the hypertext
is seen from a feminine vision that emphasizes the use of the adjective your in the beginning of each month.
Finally, The text uses adverbial constructions that
advance the events, temporal expressions with information about the future (In a few weeks you will not longer fit; Month
