The school is "I.T.C.G.T Manlio Capitolo" technical institute for tourism, accountants and surveyors. It is located in a little town called Tursi, in Basilicata Region in the south of Italy; it is a disadvantaged area; the economy is based mainly on the agriculture, the farmers have difficulty to sell their products at the right price and the tourist structures work only two months per year. For this reason there is unemployment; in many families, with two or more studens, there is only a person who works.

The nearest airport Bari is 180 Km far and the students don't have the opportunity to travel, for economic reason; practise foreign languages and have contacts with their contemporaries, because of that, they could have the European dimension by this project.

In the school there are 3 different courses: accountancy, surveyor or a course for tourism. It's a small and quiet school; there are about 500 pupils and about 50 teachers.
