MOTIVATION:

The project aims are important to learn and encourage the participating teachers and students about the way of life in other countries, in practice ICT and visits with stay in private homes which will increase their motivation to study English. In the long term they will be better in using English both oral and in writing and more sensitive to other European cultures.

It is also important to increase the students and teachers knowledge about school systems, education and politics in other parts of Europe to understand the background of other youngsters. As an adult it is also possible to find a job in other European member countries and then it is an advantage to have knowledge about life styles, education and politics.

In the world there is intense focus on environmental issues. We want our students to realize how much electricity and water they use by measuring their consumption both at home and at the school and after that find out how they can reduce the consumption to avoid catastrophes in the future. During this work they will be able to act instead of just be talking.

To communicate it is necessary to be able to use ICT. During this project we attach heavy importance for the students and teachers to be familiar with the use of ICT. All teachers taking part in the project will be responsible for this topic and it will be included in their curriculum.

In all kind of work it is necessary that the students learn to work together in team, groups and pairs both at the schools and during the visits. This competence is very useful in their future lives as collaboration is important in many jobs. All teachers will responsible to train the students in this and it will be a part of their curriculum when they describe their teaching methods.

As citizens in Europe the students should think of themselves as an active part of the European community which they will understand during this project.

Fof students in general and for students with special needs especially it increases their sel-esteem to be working internationally.

To go on living together in peace and harmony it is of great importance to spread the sense of tolerance and understanding which this project contribute to.

This project is good for our school life to open our focus for other lifestyles. Our students should open their minds for other countries and cultures. They can reflect their own sutuation and see what it is different in the lives of foreign students'. Moreover we like to open our schools to the public.
